Indicaction

ज्वरातिसारिणे – indicated in JWARATISARA

तथातीसाररोगिणे – INDICATED IN ATISARA

ग्रहणीषट्प्रकारेषु – INDICATED IN SIX TYPES OF GRAHANI

रक्तातीसार       - INDICATED IN RAKTATISARA

तत्तद्रोगानुपानेन नियोज्योऽयं रसोत्तम

Very much indicated in various disease where there is MALA sanchaya, Pittavrudhi, due to agnimandya ,

Though its indicated in Atisara, its not always the drug of choice. Because in atisara if  the Ama is involved and if patient is expelling vidagdha/or apakwa ahara (indigested food) then Stambhana is not advised. First deepana ,pachanam drugs must be administerd and in later stages stambhana karma must be preferred.

As it contains Ahiphena , drug which comes under narcotics act, use must be very judicial, and must be administered under the supervision of a registered ayurvedic physician. its not indicated in children under 5 years of age, and in pregnancy.
